Joachim-Plattin And The SSM Special Needs Tracking And Awareness Response System

As one of the pilot ambulance districts during the development of SSM’s Special Needs Tracking and Awareness Response System (S.T.A.R.S) program, this essential system prepares our EMS providers with essential information to better equip themselves for calls involving a special needs pediatric patient. The S.T.A.R.S program serves as a database detailing the medical history, medications, common medical emergencies, and other critical points of information about each individual inputted into the system and is regularly maintained by SSM Health Systems and is updated every time your child visits their physician.

As our go-to Joachim-Plattin special needs emergency program, we encourage all local qualifying families to enroll their children in the S.T.A.R.S program. Individuals who are enrolled in the program will be assigned a S.T.A.R.S number which will need to be provided should a call to 911 need to be made.
